June 2008 - Hi everyone - we've been noses down and bums up working on "Light Of Hope", the album of 10 original songs from multi-award winning songwriter Brenda-Lee Heathcote, featuring 10 terrifically talented singers, and a bonus track by Tania Kernaghan. We'll be launching the album during Hats Off Festival in Tamworth on the Fourth of July, as well as celebrating the arrival of Meat Pie Music, Brenda-Lee's music publishing company.
It's an amazing collection of great songs, and I learned a lot from sitting in the hot seat as producer, engineer, guitarist, keyboard player (not at the same time, though, I'm just a guy and not really capable of multi-tasking...)
For more info on the artists and this project check out www.meatpiemusic.com.
Managing to squeeze in a couple of jingles for CMP Film & Television on the Gold Coast - I've got opportunities to write music for a casual game, a short film, and a feature, none of which I can talk about yet (so that holiday will probably have to wait a bit longer!) and have a couple of gigs coming up soon with The Twang Gang.Have a listen to some music while you're here visiting, and I'd love to have you sign my guestbook. That's the short story for now - thanks for checking in - safe journey!
AUG 2007:
Hi everyone - apologies to those who have checked for updates recently. Sadly, a family tragedy in January put a hold on things, but I’ll attempt to bring you up to speed with what’s been happening.
First up, now have a MySpace site. Please check it out and become a friend on www.myspace.com/resonancearray
Have produced jingles for CMP Film & Television (co-written, co-produced and co-performed with the always amazing Brenda-Lee Heathcote) and for David Murray – had a lot of fun with Dave’s song for Noosa Sanctuary Resort – did a cruisy big band type of thing with a great vocal performance from Phil Guest . (will post tv version here as soon as we get a copy.)
Been getting back to some live playing again – guitar and keyboards on two sets with Vanya at Club Banora a few weeks back – wonderful singer/songwriter with a great bunch of players backing her up – had a great time – Thanks, Vanya! Also did a bit of acoustic guitar work backing up Tania Kernaghan at the Caravan and Camping Show up in Brisbane in June – delightful singer, amazing performer, a true professional, and a lot of fun to work with. Thanks Tania! And, with the amazing Ms. Heathcote, have been rehearsing a new five piece live band called “Brenda-Lee & The Twang Gang” – watch her MySpace site for more details - www.myspace.com/brendaleeheathcote
Recently completed score for “Extremists”, a short film directed by Justin Ashcraft and produced by James Hicks – good work guys, and an important message for all of us about racial tolerance.
That’s the short list for now - thanks for checking in – safe journey.
