After a number of years working as a guitar and keyboard player, I decided to start studying composition, orchestration and arrangement privately in ‘93 (thanks to Russell Steinberg for the textbook). Personal film music heroes include Jerry Goldsmith, Henry Mancini, Randy Newman, Danny Elfman, BT and Ennio Morricone.

My experience writing songs for film taught me that a lot of it’s about getting the job done on time, under budget, and being as creative as possible within those limitations - not really interested in using my underscore work as a stepping stone to "serious" music composition. To date I’ve scored half a dozen shorts, and two independent features. (Check out the television and interactive pages for more music. )
